From the beginning of time, women have been cared for and nurtured as they become mothers. Family, friends, and neighbors from the community would rally around the new family to help guide them through their tender early weeks and months with a new baby.

Doulas help make birthing better!

They nurture, support, and offer expert guidance for families during their pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum time. There is incredible evidence that shows how birth doulas improve outcomes!

According to a 2017 Cochrane Database Systematic Review, “Continuous support in labor may improve a number of outcomes for both mother and baby, and no adverse outcomes have been identified. Continuous support from a person who is present solely to provide support, is not a member of the woman’s own network, is experienced in providing labor support, and has at least a modest amount of training (such as a doula), appears beneficial.”

My Story

I'm a mother a wife daughter sister and an aunt. I take so much pride in everything that I am. This isn't my only passion. I've vowed to help all women never feel as I once did.

Over 14 years ago a day I could never forget,  giving birth to my son, how alone I felt, how uneducated I was, and how scared it was to challenge those that I thought knew everything medically but knew nothing about me or listened to my needs and desires. I gave birth under stress, with no answers to why I had to go into early labor or have a clear understanding of what was happening. What I do know is, my water was leaking the entire time, it became a risk to continue out my pregnancy. I delivered my son at St Vincent's Women Hospital between Friday when they started inducing me till Monday I found out that my baby was in next to no amniotic fluid. On Monday when he finally came out, he wasn't breathing or holding his body temperature. I could have just died at the thought that I went through all of this and my son didn't make it. What did I do wrong?

Fast-forward 9 years later I was invited to the birth of a family member's baby, It was right on time for me, I was going through a hard time in my life and wanting so desperately to get pregnant. I decided to be right by her side supporting her through the pain and the doubt of containing on. It sparked something in me. The desire to want more kids was at an all-time high, but more importantly, I knew then that if I could stand and watch her and support her in her time of despair that's where my heart is. At that very moment, an overwhelming feeling that this was is my purpose, I've found my love, my passion, something that I would love to do, that gave me so much pleasure and I didn't sick at the sight. The feeling of helping a woman at a time when no woman should be alone, a time when every woman needs all the support and understanding she can get. Why Not Me?
